It was a weekend of success for Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club, with teams delivering impressive performances and securing maximum points in their encounters.
Kansanshi Dynamos FC
The senior team picked up a crucial 2-0 away victory against Chambishi FC in a Week 25 clash of the ZPL National League.
New signings Brighton Kabumba and Ignitius Kalunga made an immediate impact, with Kabumba marking his debut with a brilliant header to open the scoring, while Kalunga netted his first goal for the club in his second appearance to seal the win.
Midfield general Mike Zozi was a rock in the heart of the pitch, putting in a commanding performance that saw him deservedly voted Player of the Match, courtesy of Rock Tech Conveyor Solutions.
This result was a massive boost for the team after picking up a draw and a loss in their previous two away games. Coach Zeddy Saileti expressed his delight with the performance, emphasizing the need for consistency as the team pushes for the championship.
With this win, Kansanshi Dynamos now sit on 51 points, just four points behind log leaders Konkola Blades, keeping the title race alive.
YOUNG KANSANSHI UNITED
Our developmental side Young Kansanshi United showed resilience in their Week 24 match of the FAZ Provincial Division One Northwestern League, coming from behind to beat Kabanda Stingers 2-1 away in Mwinilunga.
Despite conceding in the 24th minute, the boys fought back in the second half. Bwalya Ndowa equalized in the 68th minute from the penalty spot after William Daka was brought down in the box. The game-winner came in the 82nd minute when Peter Kayombo fired home a stunning goal to secure all three points.
Goalkeeper Davies Mulaisho was the hero of the day, saving two penaltiesโincluding a retake ordered by the refereeโkeeping Young Kansanshi in the fight. The team now sits third on the log with 41 points.
KANSANSHI QUEENS FC
The womenโs side Kansanshi Queens had no league action in the ZPL Womenโs National League โ North this weekend but kept sharp with a friendly match against Super League side Police Doves Queens at Independence Stadium.
It was an exciting encounter, with Kansanshi Queens securing a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Naomi Mukuka, Chinyama Ruth, and Mervis Ngoma.
Kansanshi Academy
The Academy team had a walkover win as their scheduled opponents, Mutanda United Academy, failed to travel for the match. This means the boys automatically collect three points and three goals to their tally.
