Competition: MTN Super League
Date: 9 November 2025
After a long wait and a string of nine matches without victory, Kansanshi Dynamos earned their first win of the season with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Nchanga Rangers at Independence Stadium.
Coming into the match, the Mabanga Boys had drawn six and lost three, including three consecutive stalemates. But on Sunday, everything finally clicked and the long-awaited win arrived in dramatic fashion.
The home side started brightly with Kezron Kizito testing the visitors’ defense early in the 8th minute, though his shot was blocked.
Moments later, Nchanga’s Abraham Kanyangala found space after a neat pass but sent his effort over the bar in the 11th minute.
Kansanshi continued to press, with Joseph Chomba delivering a teasing cross that found Kalonji Mwepu, who headed just over in the 30th minute.
In the 39th, Rodgers Lukonde’s corner once again connected with Mwepu, but the striker couldn’t find the target.
Just before halftime, goalkeeper Gwazani Banda produced a crucial save, standing tall to deny Nchanga a close-range chance, ensuring the match remained goalless at the break.
Coach Yoram Kasempa introduced Willy Bokingo for Beby Musangala early in the second half a change that would prove decisive.
In the 68th minute, Kansanshi’s patience and teamwork paid off.
A slick build-up involving Brian Mwila and Garry Mwelwa set up Willy Bokingo, who produced a moment of brilliance, a stunning bicycle kick finish to send the home crowd into celebration.
The goal proved enough as the Dynamos defense held firm to secure all three points and celebrate their first victory of the campaign.
