JOINT STATEMENT | KANSANSHI DYNAMOS FC & KANSANSHI MINING PLC

Violence and Misconduct Have No Place in Our Game

Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club and our title sponsor, Kansanshi Mining PLC, both strongly condemn the acts of violence and unruly behavior exhibited by a section of supporters during our Week Nine fixture against Mines United at Independence Stadium.

While we understand the frustration that comes with recent results, resorting to violence or disruptive conduct is unacceptable and goes against the values of respect, unity, and sportsmanship that our club stands for.

The club and sponsor wish to sincerely apologize to Mines United FC, their players, officials, and supporters for the incident. We regret any discomfort caused and reaffirm our commitment to fair play and mutual respect.

We share in our fans’ disappointment following recent performances and acknowledge that results have not met expectations.

Club management is not taking this lightly. Prior to yesterday’s match, the Executive Committee had tasked the technical bench and players to deliver a total of nine (9) points, with a minimum of seven (7), from the next three fixtures (including the Mines United match). A review will follow this period, and decisions will be made accordingly.

On these potential steps, the club EXCO has consulted with the management of Kansanshi Mining PLC, who continue to take an active interest in the performance of the club.

The club has also made it clear that we expect players to take full responsibility and show greater hunger, discipline, and commitment on the pitch. Kansanshi Dynamos needs players who play with heart, pride, and passion for the badge.

This directive is part of the club’s broader commitment to accountability and performance excellence.

That said, any form of violent or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Such actions endanger others, damage the reputation of our club and sponsors, and risk serious sanctions from the football authorities.

We urge all supporters to channel their passion positively, to stand by the team through both good and difficult times, and to embody the true spirit of the Mabanga Boys — fearless, united, and respectful.

Let us all remember, our strength is in unity, not hostility.
