The Fearless Mabanga Boys delivered a much-needed response in front of their home faithful, securing a 2β1 victory over Konkola Blades at Solwezi Independence Stadium in our first home game of the 2026 Transitional League season.
Joseph Ssemujju opened the scoring just four minutes into the encounter, netting his second consecutive goal after capitalising on a turnover to put the hosts ahead. Konkola Blades equalised through Idris Mbombo just before the break, but Beby Musangala stepped up in the 74th minute to calmly convert a penalty and restore our lead.
The boys held on to secure all three points, registering our first win of the campaign after an opening-day draw against Makeni All Stars and a 4β1 defeat to FC MUZA.
Player of the Match: Joseph Ssemujju! The forward delivered another impressive performance, opened the scoring and continued his fine start to the season in front of our home supporters.
Beyond the result, Saturday also gave us beautiful moments of sportsmanship, with players and members of the technical teams sharing moments of brotherhood after the final whistle. Rivals on the pitch, united by the beautiful game.

Our developmental side also returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2β1 away victory over Ikelenge Young Stars in their Week 7 fixture.
Muyinda Sakapaji opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Situmbeko Mathias struck the decisive goal in the 69th minute to seal a valuable victory on the road. It was a determined performance from the young Mabanga Boys in what was far from an easy away assignment.

It was a difficult outing for Kansanshi Queens, who suffered their first defeat of the season after going down 3β0 to reigning champions ZESCO Ndola Girls on Sunday in their rescheduled Week 1 fixture.
The Queens will look to regroup, learn from the setback and respond positively in their next assignment.
