TEAM MEDIC PROVIDES SQUAD INJURY UPDATE

Kansanshi Dynamos team medic Valentine Ngosa has provided an update on the fitness of the squad as the team continues preparations during pre-season camp.

Four players are currently unavailable for training, with Christopher Muhango, Mike Zozi and Zeliat Nkhoma continuing their respective rehabilitation programmes, while Titus Chivunga is being assessed after picking up a knock during yesterday’s friendly. Several other players who had been nursing injuries have, however, made positive progress and returned to full training.

Goalkeeper Gwazani Banda has returned to full training after spending the past two weeks on a light training programme while recovering from a groin injury.

Muhango continues to recover from a knee injury he sustained during his first week after joining the team. He has undergone a scan and remains under physiotherapy. According to Ngosa, Muhango is expected to remain out for at least the next two weeks, after which the medical team should have a clearer indication of when he can return to full training.

Zozi has been nursing an ankle injury for the past two weeks and is recovering well. Ngosa expects him to return to full training on Monday.

Nkhoma, meanwhile, picked up a knee injury a week ago and remains out of training. He is expected to begin light training next week, subject to his progress and further assessment by the medical team.

Mapalo Chitundu also being assessed after picking up a foot injury during pre-season. Ngosa says the player is expected to begin light training by next Monday or Tuesday, depending on how he responds to rehabilitation and monitoring.

Ngosa also confirms that Rodgers Lukonde, Bokingo William and Mathews Banda, who had been nursing injuries, have returned to full training after completing their respective rehabilitation programmes.

The medical team will continue to monitor the squad closely throughout the pre-season, with further assessments to determine the players’ readiness to return to full training
