Kansanshi Dynamos FC continued preparations for the 2026 Transitional League with a 1–0 victory over National League side Kitwe United in a preseason friendly on Thursday.
The match formed part of the team’s eight-day preseason camp in Kitwe, with the Mabanga Boys using the outing to test different combinations and give players valuable match minutes. The friendly was played across three 40-minute periods.
Gregory Sanjase started in goal for the opening period, with Mathews Banda, Remmy Chanda, Faustine Bakodila, Thomas Tembo, Kelvin Kapumbu, Mathews Tolopa, Kizito Keziron, Clinton Lubula, Brighton Kabumba and Joseph Ssemujju completing the starting XI.
The technical team made changes as the game progressed, with Raphael Zulu, Titus Chivunga, Muleta Mubiana, Rodgers Lukonde, Mathews Mutambo, Julius Mwanza, Garry Mwelwa, Musonda Kapembwa and Bebe Musangala also featuring.
For the final 45 minutes, Rodgers Chitambala, Francisco Madinga, Patrick Macheso and Dalitso Lungu took to the pitch.
The breakthrough eventually came in the final period, with Francisco Madinga scoring a well-worked team goal. As Kansanshi Dynamos continued to search for the opener, Dalitso Lungu provided the decisive pass, with Madinga finishing the move to give the Mabanga Boys the lead.
The 1–0 victory marks Kansanshi Dynamos’ second preseason friendly following their earlier double-header against Jumulo FC in Luanshya, where the team recorded a 2–0 win and a goalless draw.
The focus now shifts to Saturday, when the Mabanga Boys will face Super League side ZESCO United in another preseason friendly as the eight-day Kitwe camp continues.
The friendly schedule remains an important part of the team’s preparations, allowing the technical team to assess the squad, build match fitness and continue working towards the 2026 Transitional League.
