Kansanshi Dynamos FC wrapped up their eight-day preseason camp in Kitwe with a positive outing against Super League side ZESCO United, winning the double-header 3–1 in Ndola on Saturday.
After facing National Division sides in their previous friendlies, the Mabanga Boys made the short trip to Ndola for two 80-minute friendly matches, with the games providing the technical team with another opportunity to test different combinations, assess the squad and give players valuable match minutes ahead of the 2026 Transitional League.
In the first game, Mathews Tolopa opened the scoring after just eight minutes, with Joseph Ssemujju providing the assist as Kansanshi Dynamos took an early lead.
ZESCO United were later awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Gwazani Banda produced an important save to deny the Super League side an equaliser.
Kansanshi Dynamos added a second goal after the break, with Kizito Keziron finding the back of the net following a pass from Beby Musangala to put the Mabanga Boys 2–0 ahead in the first game.
The second game saw both sides continue to make changes, with the technical team using the final 80-minute fixture to give more players valuable game time.
ZESCO United opened the scoring in the second game through Elvis Addae in the 37th minute, but Kansanshi Dynamos responded after the break, with Patrick Macheso scoring in the 66th minute to level the game.
The 1–1 draw in the second game meant Kansanshi Dynamos finished the two games with a 3–1 aggregate victory over ZESCO United.
The outing brings the team’s Kitwe preseason camp to an end, with the Mabanga Boys set to travel back to Solwezi tomorrow as preparations for the 2026 Transitional League continue.
The friendly schedule has given the technical team an opportunity to assess the squad, build match fitness and work on different combinations ahead of the new season.
