Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club honoured the players of its successful 2024/25 campaign with a vibrant awards ceremony held at Brenda’s Events in Solwezi. The night was filled with celebration as players, staff, supporters, and stakeholders came together to reflect on a season that saw the Mabanga Boys earn promotion back to the MTN Super League.
Midfield engine Kizito Keziron stole the show, winning both the Player of the Season and the Most Consistent Player awards. His firm presence, leadership, and consistent performances made him a central figure in Kansanshi’s impressive campaign.
Dalitso Lungu and Kalonji T. Mwepu shared the Top Scorer award, each finishing the season with nine (9) goals, having played crucial roles in pushing the team forward with their clinical finishing.
The Most Improved Player award went to Martin Alufonso, recognised for his significant development and growing influence on the pitch.
Rodger Chitambala walked away with the Disciplined Player award, a nod to his calm, professional conduct throughout the season, while team captain Rodger Lukonde received the Most Inspirational Player award for his leadership, character, and ability to keep the team united in both tough and triumphant moments.
Rising talent Mathews Mwale was named the Most Promising Player, as he continued to show exciting glimpses of his potential and determination to grow within the team.
The President’s Award was jointly awarded to Mike Zozi and Remmy Chanda, in appreciation of their outstanding service and dedication to the club behind the scenes.
In recognition of exceptional off-the-pitch performance, the club’s Media Department was named the Most Consistent Department, applauded for its tireless efforts in sharing the team’s story and engaging the fan base.
A special “12th Player Recognition” was awarded to the loyal Kansanshi Dynamos supporters, whose passion and solid belief played a massive role in motivating the team throughout the campaign. Their chants, presence, and commitment gave the club its heartbeat.
Speaking during the event, Club President Mr. Douglas Nyirenda commended everyone who contributed to the club’s remarkable season.
“Earning our place back in the prestigious MTN Super League is a milestone we should not take lightly. It was no accident, it was the result of months of hard work through your spirit of resilience, unity, and ambition,” he said.
“As we prepare to return to the MTN Super League, let it be clear, we are not going there just to participate, but to compete, because that is where this club truly belongs.” Mr. Nyirenda adds.
Backed by Kansanshi Mining PLC and supported by partners such as Rock Tech Conveyor Solutions, Kansanshi Dynamos now looks ahead to the MTN Super League with renewed focus and momentum.
