Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club yesterday, April 26 2026, hosted a special awards ceremony in honour of Kansanshi Queens following their historic championship-winning season and promotion to the ZPL Women’s Super League.
The colourful event, held at Brenda’s Events in Solwezi, brought together club officials, players, invited guests and supporters to celebrate a memorable campaign that saw the Queens crowned champions of the 2025/26 ZPL Women’s National League North.
Kansanshi Queens finished the season on 49 points, sealing promotion to the Women’s Super League for the very first time since the team was established in 2015.
Speaking during the ceremony, club president Douglas Nyirenda praised the players, technical bench and management for their dedication and commitment throughout the season.
Nyirenda described the achievement as a reward for years of hard work, patience and belief, adding that the promotion marked the beginning of a new chapter for women’s football at the club.
The event also recognised outstanding individual performances from the championship-winning season through a number of awards.
Captain Jane Ngulube was named Kansanshi Queens Player of the Season, while Florence Bwembya received the Most Consistent Player of the Season award.
League top scorer Theresa Nayame was honoured with the Top Scorer of the Season accolade after an impressive campaign in front of goal.
Mwangala Musoko scooped the Most Improved Player of the Season award, with Mercy Bwembya named Most Disciplined Player of the Season.
Triza Chileshe received the Most Inspirational Player of the Season award, while Dorcas Kupanda was presented with the President’s Award in recognition of her contribution and achievements.
Kupanda has also continued to raise the club’s profile after earning national team recognition at youth level.
In appreciation of their efforts throughout the successful campaign, all players and members of the technical bench also received medals and special tokens of appreciation during the ceremony.
The ceremony capped off a successful season for Kansanshi Queens, who now shift focus to preparations for life in the ZPL Women’s Super League.
With history already made, the Queens will be aiming to continue their rise on the national stage.
