SOLWEZI, 9 August 2026- Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club has held a one-day capacity-building workshop for the Kansanshi Queens aimed at preparing the team for its maiden campaign in the Women’s Super League.
The workshop, held on Saturday August 8, at Crossroads Lodge, brought together the Queens and various departments of the club to equip the players with knowledge on the club’s structures, expectations and the different aspects of professional football as they prepare to compete at the highest level.
The programme provided the players with an opportunity to engage directly with key club officials and departmental heads, covering areas including the club’s vision and values, administration and operations, medical care, challenges and opportunities, finance, the Laws of the Game, and media and communication.
Opening the programme, the Club President Douglas Nyirenda took the players through the vision, values and expectations of Kansanshi Dynamos, outlining what it means to represent the club and the standards expected as the Queens enter a new level of competition.
The General Secretary Mweshi Mupeta, followed with a session on the history, hierarchy and operations of the club, giving the players a better understanding of the structures supporting the club and how its various departments work together.
Player welfare was also given prominence, with the Head of the Medical Team Doc Maluwa engaging the players on medical matters and the importance of maintaining their wellbeing throughout the season.
Club Coordinator Charles Zinti then addressed the team on the challenges and opportunities that come with competing at a higher level, while the Treasurer General took the players through financial matters.
The football education component of the workshop saw Mr Kakoma conduct a session on the Laws of the Game, helping the players strengthen their understanding of the rules and expectations of the modern game.
The workshop concluded with a session from the Head of Media Gwen Chipasula, focusing on media and communication and the players’ role in representing the Kansanshi Dynamos brand both on and off the pitch.
The engagement comes at an important point in the Queens’ development, following their historic promotion to the Women’s Super League for the first time.
The team has been on a steady upward trajectory since its establishment in 2015 and entry into competitive football in 2016. The Queens progressed through the provincial league before advancing to the national league and ultimately securing promotion to the Super League.
With a new level of competition comes new demands, and the club is using the preseason period to ensure the Queens are prepared not only technically and tactically, but also professionally for the challenges ahead.
Saturday’s workshop was therefore an important part of that preparation, bringing the different arms of the club together to help the Queens understand what awaits them in their historic Super League campaign.
For the Queens, the message is clear: promotion was the achievement; preparation is the next step.
