Kansanshi Queens on Saturday officially received their 2025/26 ZPL Women’s National League North trophy during a coronation ceremony held at halftime of the MTN Super League match between Kansanshi Dynamos and Nkana.
The colourful ceremony was conducted by Zambia Premier League (ZPL) League Manager Mr. Brian Mulenga, who officially crowned the Queens champions following their successful promotion to the Women’s Super League for the very first time since the team was established in 2015.
Apart from lifting the championship trophy, the Queens also received a cheque worth K40,000 as winners of the Northern Zone league.
Players and members of the technical bench proudly celebrated the achievement in front of supporters at Independence Stadium, with the moment symbolising the reward for a remarkable campaign.
Kansanshi Queens finished the season on 49 points to emerge champions after an outstanding and consistent performance throughout the campaign.
The achievement caps off a memorable season for the Solwezi-based side, who now shift attention towards preparations for life in the Women’s Super League next season.
The coronation comes just days after the club also hosted a special awards gala to honour the players and technical bench for their contribution to the historic success.
