𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 | Kansanshi Travel to Chililabombwe for Konkola Battle

Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club make a short trip to Chililabombwe this weekend for a Week-20 encounter of the MTN Super League against Konkola Blades.

The Solwezi-based side heads into the fixture full of confidence following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zanaco FC in their previous match and will be aiming to build momentum as the season progresses.

Only two points separate the two sides on the log, with Konkola Blades currently sitting 10th with 23 points, while Kansanshi Dynamos occupy 13th position with 21 points. The hosts come into this match after a 1-1 draw against FC MUZA, setting up what promises to be a closely contested encounter.

The two teams are very familiar with each other, having both competed in the National League last season. Their most recent meeting ended in a 1-1 draw earlier this campaign, with Dalitso Lungu scoring for Kansanshi Dynamos, while Kapumbu Kelvin, now part of the Kansanshi setup, found the net for Konkola Blades at the time.

Assistant Coach Dennis Makinka, who continues to lead the technical bench in the absence of Head Coach Mohamed Fathi, previewed the upcoming fixture following the victory over Zanaco.

“Yeah, Konkola Blades drew yesterday against MUZA. It was a very difficult game, so you can see the form that they are in. Of course, they have a very experienced coach, Coach Beston, who has been there for a while in the football scene. I think it’s going to be a tough game. Obviously, knowing how it is, it’s always noisy at Konkola, the supporters, it’s always packed, so we expect a very tough game because they are going to be motivated with their supporters behind them.”

“Yeah, we had a complete rest yesterday morning, then we had a recovery session and injury prevention in the afternoon. Today when we came in the morning, everyone looked fresh, apart from Bokingo who is still struggling with the injury he picked up during the Kabwe Warriors game.”

🗣️ On fatigue levels and team readiness

“Otherwise, everyone is looking very sharp. They look eager to play against Konkola and I think the team is ready. No fatigue, this I can confirm. We recovered very well yesterday and in today’s session we looked tops.”
