Kansanshi Dynamos FC are gearing up for their Week-3 fixture of the MTN Super League tomorrow when they host Konkola Blades FC at Independence Stadium.
This will be the second time the two sides meet this season, having faced off in the Charity Shield curtain-raiser where Konkola claimed a narrow 1-0 victory. Head Coach Zeddy Saileti believes that previous encounter will serve as an advantage for his team, as they already have an idea of how to approach this match.
The Dynamos are yet to secure their first win of the season, after drawing their opening home match and losing away to Zanaco last weekend. Coach Saileti emphasized that tomorrow’s game is crucial in setting the tone for the season.
Expectations
“This time, we have to be focused, we need to be a team. We’re playing at home in front of our fans, we don’t want to disappoint our fans. We have not started the league well, we will try to entertain our fans.”
What is the team going to do differently in this game?
“Of course, we need to be conscious, we need to play well, we don’t need to concede, and of course, we want to win. We need to work hard, especially for our fans. We need to be focused, be composed, and I think we can win the game.”
About Konkola, second time facing them following the Charity Shield
“There’s an advantage, yes, because now we know them better. But we are playing at home, so we have a lot of confidence. The boys have responded well in training this week because they know what is at stake. We have not gotten any positive result so far this season, so it’s important. We just need that stepping stone, if we get one win, I think it will increase the confidence levels, which is very important for us.”
Morale from the players
“Of course everyone is disappointed after the Zanaco game, maybe because they were confident. But looking at how they have behaved during the week, they have been a team, the team spirit is there, everyone wants to work hard. They know that we’re not doing well, which is very important. We have psyched them, we know playing at home has pressure, everyone wants us to win, but we have told them we need composure, to be confident, and to enjoy the game.”
Injuries
“Everyone is okay, everyone looks fit.”
