KANSANSHI DYNAMOS READY TO KICK OFF SUPER LEAGUE CAMPAIGN AGAINST KABWE WARRIORS

The 2025/26 season kicks off tomorrow as Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club prepares for an electric home match against Kabwe Warriors in week one of the MTN Super League.

Fresh from a strong campaign in the National League, expectations are high from fans and well-wishers alike. The team is determined to perform well and make this season count.

Head coach Zeddy Saileti, who joined the club at the start of last season, is looking forward to the new campaign. He has indicated that the technical bench has been working hard to psych the players mentally, helping them settle into the Super League.

Having finished second in the National League, just three points shy of winning the league, the team aims to deliver a strong season and make Solwezi fans and sponsors proud.

Coach Saileti has previewed the first match of the 2025/26 season against Kabwe Warriors, set for Independence Stadium, expressing his desire to start on a high note at home.

Q&A with Head Coach Zeddy Saileti

Q: Coach, you finished the National League on a high note. Are you excited for this season?
A: We finished on a high note, and hopefully we start this season on a high as well. We have prepared thoroughly and have psych-ed the players mentally about the season and how different it will be. We want to be competitive.

Q: How does it feel to be back in the Super League?
A: It feels great because you play good football, face strong teams, and encounter good coaches. It’s an opportunity to grow as a coach and improve tactically.

Q: How was pre-season?
A: Pre-season was just okay. We played several matches and didn’t get all the desired results, but that’s normal. The focus was on combining new players and seeing how the squad works together.

Q: What is your goal this season?
A: We don’t want to put the players under pressure, but as the technical bench, and the players know, we want to compete at a high level. We will give our maximum effort.

Q: How are the new players fitting in so far?
A: We signed four players. For example, Bakodila from Power Dynamos has been helping the younger players, which is good for the team and the defense. Overall, the new players are settling in well.

Q: How are you looking at Kabwe Warriors tomorrow?
A: Expectations will be very high, especially from our supporters. The players know what is at stake. They’ve been training well and are well-prepared. Kabwe Warriors is a big team, but with respect, we will stick to our plan. They play good football, yes, but we have to focus on ourselves and aim for maximum points.

Q: First game at home, what kind of result are you looking for?
A: It’s the first game, of course, we want to make a strong statement. We aim for maximum points. The players are focused, the technical bench is focused, and everyone, management and fans needs to account for themselves well.

Q: Message to the players?
A: They need to stay focused and confident. We are at home, and they must understand this is a different league. The most important thing is for them to enjoy the game and give their best.

Q: Message to the fans?
A: They should come in large numbers. We appreciate their support and ask them to keep backing the boys. We will make sure to give them a good performance.
