It was a busy weekend for the Kansanshi Dynamos family, with all three teams in action across their respective competitions.
The senior team opened its 2026 ZPL Transitional League campaign with a point away from home, Kansanshi Queens continued their strong start to life in the Super League with another victory, while Young Kansanshi United suffered their first defeat of the campaign.
KANSANSHI DYNAMOS | NEW FACES, NEW CAMPAIGN
The Fearless Mabanga Boys began their Transitional League journey with a goalless draw against newly promoted Makeni All Stars at Reiz Arena.
While the result may not have been the desired start, the opening fixture provided the first competitive minutes of the new campaign, and the first competitive appearances in the orange and black for new signings Mathews Tolopa and Joseph Ssemujju, both of whom started the match.
Tolopa was involved in some of Kansanshi’s early attacking moments, testing the Makeni goalkeeper with an effort in the 14th minute, while Ssemujju came close in the 32nd minute with a powerful shot that was parried away.
Ssemujju also had another opportunity late in the game after beating the Makeni defence, but his effort was comfortably collected by the goalkeeper.
Coach Denis Makinka made two changes during the encounter, introducing Gary Muelwa for Willy Bokingo in the 60th minute, before Dalitso Dolungo replaced Kizito Kezeron in the 75th minute.
The goalless draw means Kansanshi take a point from their opening fixture as the team begins what promises to be a demanding Transitional League campaign.

KANSANSHI QUEENS | STILL GOING STRONG
Kansanshi Queens continued their impressive start to the Super League with a 2–1 victory over FC Leopards at Independence Stadium.
The win marks the Queens’ second consecutive victory since commencing their Super League campaign.
Triza Chileshe opened the scoring in the 45th minute with a direct free-kick to send Kansanshi into the break with the lead.
FC Leopards responded after the restart, finding the equaliser in the 59th minute.
But the Queens restored their lead just five minutes later, with Temwani Lungu finding the back of the net in the 64th minute to secure another three points.
Lungu was once again on the scoresheet after also scoring in the Queens’ previous victory, continuing her strong start to the campaign.

Young Kansanshi United suffered their first defeat of the campaign after falling to a narrow 1–0 loss to Spartan at home.
The developmental side will now look to respond in their next fixture as they continue their campaign.
