It was not the best of weekends for the Kansanshi Family, with none of our teams managing to secure a victory. Fans who had hoped for a weekend of positive results were left disappointed, though the Queens managed to record a valuable draw at home.
⚽ Kansanshi Dynamos FC (Senior Team)
The Mabanga Boys suffered their first home defeat in over a year, their last loss at Independence Stadium came in March 2024 against Power Dynamos in the 2023/24 MTN Super League.
This time, they went down 1–0 to Green Eagles in Week 5 of the National Division One League. Despite creating plenty of opportunities, the boys could not convert. A misplaced pass in the 56th minute proved costly, with Collins Sikombe punishing the error to seal victory for the visitors.
Coach Zeddy Saileti made five changes to the starting XI, handing Gwazani Banda his debut in goal ahead of Mapalo. Other changes saw Mike Zozi replace Titus Chivunga, Garry Mwelwa in for Remmy Chanda, Brighton Kaumba start ahead of Dalitso Lungu, and Rodgers Chitambala come in for Joseph Chomba.
The team started brightly, with attacking intent throughout, and even Eagles’ coach admitted afterwards that Kansanshi were the better side on the day. Still, the decisive moment went against the Mabanga Boys.
Coach Zeddy acknowledged the frustration but remained positive:
“We created a lot of chances, but failed to take them. We need to find a solution, and one win can change everything.”
⚽ Kansanshi Queens
In the Women’s National League–North, the Queens collected a point in their Week 6 clash against Manyama Queens at Independence Stadium. The game ended 0–0, with the Mwape Kasuka coached-side showing good attacking play but unable to convert their chances. The result keeps them steady in the league table, but finishing remains an area to improve in upcoming fixtures.

⚽ Young Kansanshi United (Developmental Side)
It was a tough outing for the youngsters in their Week 5 FAZ Division One Northwestern League fixture. They suffered a 2–0 defeat to Solwezi United, conceding early in the 7th minute and again in the 68th. Despite some promising moments, the boys couldn’t recover, and will be looking to bounce back stronger next weekend.
