The weekend saw only two teams in action across the Kansanshi Dynamos family, with the senior team hosting Mufulira Wanderers while Kansanshi Queens travelled to face Police Dove Queens.
It was a mixed set of results for the club, as the senior team secured an important victory at home while the Queens narrowly fell short in their away fixture.
Kansanshi Dynamos | MTN Super League
The Mabanga Boys delivered a strong performance at Independence Stadium, securing a 2-0 victory over Mufulira Wanderers in their Week 23 MTN Super League encounter.
Kizito opened the scoring for Kansanshi Dynamos before the hosts sealed the win with a second goal to ensure all three points remained in Solwezi. The victory provided a timely boost for the team as they continue their fight in the league.
The matchday was also marked by a special visit from Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba, who was in Solwezi.
During his visit, Mr. Mweemba declined to receive replica jerseys as gifts and instead chose to purchase replicas from both Kansanshi Dynamos and Mufulira Wanderers, explaining that he wanted to set an example in supporting clubs through official merchandise.
Kansanshi Queens | ZPL National League -North.
Kansanshi Queens suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Police Dove Queens in their local derby during Week 21 of the ZPL Women’s National League – North.
The closely contested encounter attracted a number of local fans who came out to witness the exciting derby clash. Despite putting up a spirited performance, the Queens were unable to find the equaliser after Police Dove Queens scored in the second half.
Despite the defeat, Kansanshi Queens remain second on the log with 35 points as the race for top positions continues.
Other Teams
Young Kansanshi United and the Kansanshi Academy did not play their scheduled fixtures in the FAZ Division One and Division Three leagues respectively due to the FAZ North-Western Province Annual General Meeting held over the weekend.

Kansanshi Dynamos will travel to Lusaka for a midweek MTN Super League Week 24 fixture against Red Arrows.
Kansanshi Queens return to action on Sunday, where they will host Ntindi Shining Queens.
Meanwhile, the developmental side Young Kansanshi United will play Spartans this weekend.
