WEEK-8 MTN SUPER LEAGUE.
Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club fell short at Arthur Davies Stadium, suffering a 2–0 defeat to Power Dynamos FC in a Week 8 fixture of the MTN Super League.
This was the first time this season that the Mabanga Boys conceded more than one goal in a match, a rare lapse in what has been a strong defensive run since the start of the campaign.
The hosts had an early chance to go ahead in the 12th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Mathews Mutambo was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. However, Goalkeeper Gwazani Banda produced a brilliant save to deny Moses Shumah, keeping the score level.
Power eventually broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute through Ronel Manyanga, who fired from range to put his side 1–0 up.
Moments later, KDFC’s Muleta Mubiana went close for Kansanshi Dynamos, but his shot flew just over the bar.
KDFC ended the half strongly, with Mwepu Kalonji and Brian Mwila both coming close, Mwepu’s teasing cross was inches away from being converted, while Brian’s header was comfortably collected by the Power goalkeeper.

At the restart, Coach Yoram Kasempa made attacking changes, bringing on Kizito Kezron for Lukwesa Mwansa and Willy Bokingo for Beby Musangala in search of an equalizer.
But just three minutes into the second half, Moses Shumah doubled Power’s advantage with a header from Prince Mumba’s cross to make it 2–0.
Kansanshi were later forced into a change when Rodgers Chitambala replaced Joseph Chomba, who could not continue following a collision with a Power player in the 55th minute.
Despite several efforts, including one from Garry that went straight into the goalkeeper’s arms, Kansanshi Dynamos were unable to find the back of the net.

Coach Yoram Kasempa’s Post-Match Reaction
“Sometimes it happens like this. We were playing an experienced team, and they capitalized on our mistakes,” said Coach Yoram Kasempa after the match.
“Both goals came from errors we can correct. Some of our players were slipping, and against a team like Power Dynamos, you can’t afford that, they’ll punish you.”
On missed chances, he added:
“We had good moments in both halves where we could have scored, but sometimes players forget what we tell them. We’ll keep working on our finishing and correcting those small details.”
On the team’s objectives, Kasempa said:
“Our goal is to move up from where we are on the table. I’m encouraging the players to stay confident, stay prayerful, and play freely. We’re not retreating, we’re moving in the right direction despite the loss.”
