Mufulira Wanderers, Kansanshi Dynamos Share the Spoils in Goalless Encounter|

Kansanshi Dynamos and Mufulira Wanderers battled to a goalless draw in their MTN Super League Week Six clash at Shinde Stadium on Friday, 26 September.

The game began with Kansanshi showing early intent, creating chances through midfielder Francisco Madinga. In the 15th minute, he went close but dragged his effort wide before forcing the Wanderers goalkeeper into a save with a powerful strike midway through the half. A minute later, Kizito Kezeron nearly broke the deadlock, only to see his attempt drift just wide.

The hosts grew into the game and threatened in the 37th minute when Paul Tembo unleashed a strong shot, but Kansanshi goalkeeper Gwazani Banda produced a fine save to deny him.

Moments before the break, George was also kept out by the alert Kansanshi stopper.

After the restart, Tembo again found space in the box, but Gwazani stood firm with another outstanding stop in the 46th minute. At the other end, substitute Lucky almost snatched a winner when his 76th-minute header came off the post.

Both sides pressed in the final stages, but the breakthrough never came.

The match ended in controversy as Kansanshi head coach Zeddy Saileti was shown a red card in stoppage time. The reason for the dismissal was unclear to both the technical bench and the fourth official.

Despite the result, Saileti remained upbeat after the match, praising his side’s improvement:

“I’m pretty happy with the performance. We played as a team and controlled the game well, even away from home,” he said.

“The big issue is finishing. We haven’t been scoring goals, but we’ll keep working on giving the players confidence.”
The coach emphasized the importance of mental strength as his team continues to search for their first win of the campaign:

“This is football, you can win some, you can lose some. Once we start winning, confidence will grow and we can go on a run. For now, the important thing is to stay strong and keep pushing.”

The point leaves KDFC still searching for a first win, with the team focused on climbing away from the lower end of the table as the season edges towards its midway stage.
