MATCH REPORT| KDFC Pick Up a Point in Hard-Fought Draw

Kansanshi Dynamos put in a determined performance but were held to a 0-0 draw against Jumulo FC in a tightly contested Week 29 encounter of the ZPL National League played at Baluba Ground in Luanshya this afternoon.

Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the Mabanga Boys were unable to find the breakthrough. However, with log leaders Konkola Blades also drawing their match, Kansanshi Dynamos remain firmly in the title race, sitting second on the table with 58 points, just three behind the top spot.

Kansanshi Dynamos looked sharp from the start, showing intent in attack. In the 5th minute, Brighton Kabumba set up Kalonji Mwepu for the first real chance, but his shot sailed over the bar.

The Zeddy Saileti-coached side continued to press, earning free kicks in the 12th and 16th minutes through Mike Zozi and Mathews Mwale, but both efforts were well handled by the Jumulo goalkeeper.

Tranquilin Mwepu, returning after missing two matches, had another opportunity in the 26th minute, but his shot was again saved.

Coming out of the break with renewed energy, Kansanshi Dynamos looked determined to break the deadlock. Mwepu came close again in the 50th minute, forcing another save, before Chitambala’s long-range effort in the 52nd minute was tipped over the bar.

Rabson Mumba had a great opportunity in the 54th minute but couldn’t connect with his header inside the box. Another golden chance came in the 61st minute, but he was unable to capitalize.

Coach Zeddy Saileti made his first substitutions in the 68th minute, bringing on Clinton Lubula for Mathews Mwale and Ignitius Kalunga for Rabson Mumba to inject fresh energy into the attack.

Further changes followed in the 80th minute, with Dalitso Lungu replacing Brighton Kabumba and George Chisala coming in for Kizito Kezeron.

Kansanshi Dynamos kept pushing until the final whistle, with Lubula striking the post in the 93rd minuteβ€”agonizingly close to securing all three points.

Coach Saileti’s Post-Match Reflections

After the match, Coach Zeddy Saileti praised his team’s control of the game and acknowledged the challenges of playing on an artificial pitch.

β€œWe created a lot of chances and should have won the game. I felt we controlled the match, but we lacked confidence in front of goal. The artificial turf also played a role in how we approached the game, but overall, I’m pleased with the effort the boys put in,” Saileti said.

With their promotion and championship hopes still alive, Kansanshi Dynamos will look to build on this performance in their next fixture.
