Another exciting FQM Derby day ended in a barren draw this afternoon, with both Kalumbila side Trident FC and Solwezi-based Kansanshi Dynamos FC sharing the spoils.
This result was the exact opposite of what happened in the first round of the season, where Kansanshi Dynamos secured a convincing 3-1 victory.
Today’s action kicked off early, with the hosts threatening as early as the 2nd minute, forcing Kansanshi to stay alert and clear the danger.
Kansanshi responded quickly in the 4th minute through Dalitso Lungu, whose header went just inches off the mark.
Trident maintained early pressure, creating multiple chances. In the 8th minute, a dangerous free kick was well-cleared by Raphael Zulu.
Moments later, in the 10th minute, Trident narrowly missed the target, signaling their intent.
Kansanshi made their first change in the 36th minute, bringing on Chali Mulaisho for Clinton Lubula, aiming to gain more control in the midfield. Despite this, the hosts continued to push forward and came agonizingly close in the 43rd minute, striking the upright.

Just before halftime, in stoppage time, Rodgers Lukonde tried his luck with a well-struck shot, but the Trident goalkeeper collected it comfortably.
The second half saw Kansanshi making tactical adjustments, with Kelvin Chisamba replacing Kizito Kezeron in the 59th minute, looking to add fresh energy to the attack.
In the 79th minute, Trident won a free kick just outside the box after Mathews Mutambo fouled their striker, but Kansanshi’s defense stood firm once again.
A final substitution in the 80th minute saw Dave Daka come on for Dalitso Lungu, adding pace up front in the closing stages.
Despite late efforts from both sides, neither could find a breakthrough, and the match ended goalless—a valuable away point for the Mabanha Boys.
And in a post-match interview, Kansanshi Dynamos FC Head Coach Zeddy Saileti expressed disappointment with his team’s performance, noting that the boys didn’t play their usual game.
He described the match as difficult but remained positive, acknowledging the point earned away from home in Kalumbila.
