MATCH PREVIEW: KDFC vs NAPSA Stars

Mabanga Boys Back at Independence for High-Stakes NAPSA Test

The MTN Super League returns to action following the international break, with Kansanshi Dynamos FC set to host NAPSA Stars FC in a crucial midweek fixture this Wednesday.

The Mabanga Boys return to Independence Stadium after missing their last home fixture due to pitch restoration works following the recent Youth Day celebrations.

The match presents a crucial battle for both sides, with Kansanshi Dynamos currently sitting 14th on the log with 26 points, while NAPSA Stars occupy 16th position with 24 points, just two points separating the two teams.

Adding to the excitement, the NAPSA Stars technical bench features familiar faces, with both the head coach and first assistant coach having previously worked with Kansanshi Dynamos.

The first-round encounter between the two sides ended in a draw in Lusaka.

Coach’s Preview| Dennis Makinka

Assistant coach Dennis Makinka said the team is focused on starting the new month on a strong note.

“Our expectations for this new month are about new beginnings. We need to stay focused and treat every game with the seriousness it deserves.”

He highlighted that the team has been working on improving decision-making in the final third.

“We’ve been working on concentration with and without the ball, especially in the final third. At times we rush in the box and miss chances, but we’ve seen positive signs in training.”

Makinka described the upcoming fixture as a tough but important encounter.

“It will be a tough game. We know what is at stake, the points difference, and we are preparing for a positive result — which is a win.”

He also expressed satisfaction with the level of competition within the squad.

“The boys are in top form. Competition is high, and it’s even difficult to decide who starts. That’s a positive for the team.”

On team availability, he confirmed that most players have returned to training.

“Those who were injured are back in training, and we’ll make final decisions closer to the match.”
