MATCH PREVIEW: RED ARROWS VS KANSANSHI DYNAMOS

Kansanshi Dynamos Set for Tough Red Arrows Clash.

Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club face another crucial test on Wednesday afternoon when they take on Red Arrows in a Week 23 encounter of the MTN Super League at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

The Mabanga Boys head into the fixture currently sitting 13th on the league table and will be eager to move into a more comfortable position as the race for points intensifies.

Kansanshi Dynamos travelled to Lusaka on Monday and have been preparing for the midweek encounter following an important victory over Mighty Mufulira Wanderers last weekend, a result that boosted morale within the squad as the team continues its push to climb further up the table.

Assistant coach Dennis Makinka will lead the team again on the bench as head coach Mohamed Fathi has been excused to attend to a family matter.

Speaking ahead of the match, Makinka acknowledged the difficulty of the challenge awaiting the team in Lusaka.

“Another tough game. Red Arrows are coming from a loss and they will be wounded, especially playing at their home ground. They are a very good team with quality players and they always want to stamp authority at Nkoloma,” Makinka said.

Despite the challenge, the assistant coach says the team has prepared well and is focused on getting positive results as fixtures come thick and fast.

“The games are coming very fast, so we need positive results whether away or at home. We want to completely come out of the relegation zone and every point is important at this stage.”

Makinka also revealed that the team will approach the match cautiously while looking to take advantage of opportunities when they arise.

“We have to be cautious because Red Arrows are dangerous, especially at home. We will wait for our moments and if we can strike from there, we will.”

With three matches scheduled within a short period, squad management will be key for Kansanshi Dynamos.

“The fixtures are congested, but we have a big squad. We travelled with 22 players and we will try to rotate because we also have another tough game on Sunday,” he explained.

On the injury front, Makinka confirmed that most of the squad remains available.

“Apart from the players who missed the weekend game against Mighty Mufulira Wanderers, the rest of the squad is fine and available.”

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for what promises to be another competitive contest in Lusaka.

Kansanshi Dynamos will be hoping to build on their recent momentum as they continue their push for valuable points in the league campaign.
