Kansanshi Dynamos FC travel to Choma for a crucial Week 22 MTN Super League encounter against Green Eagles FC, with both sides separated by seven points on the league table. The Mabanga Boys head into the fixture following a well-managed long journey, having departed Solwezi on Wednesday to allow the squad time to rest and recover in Lusaka before travelling onward to Choma on Friday. The travel plan forms part of the club’s approach to managing fatigue and ensuring the players arrive prepared for the challenge ahead.

Kansanshi Dynamos come into the match after a home draw against Mutondo Stars, while Green Eagles approach the game with confidence following an away victory over FC Muza.

After a week affected by injuries that saw four starters miss out, Kansanshi Dynamos receive a major boost with key players returning to the squad. Head Coach Mohamed Fathi will take charge of his second match since returning from CAF Pro Licence studies in Egypt and believes the squad is showing positive progress both tactically and mentally.

Previewing the encounter, Coach Fathi acknowledged the challenge ahead, especially against a side that previously defeated Kansanshi in Solwezi:

“We are facing Eagles next, the team that beat us in Solwezi. That alone makes this a very important game for us. Since I returned, we have adjusted our tactics with the technical bench and the team is improving.”

He emphasised that the objective is clear:

“Our record is improving and we are out of the relegation zone, but we need to maintain the same performance and collect points from every game. This match will not be easy. We are preparing to get something positive and we don’t want to leave Choma empty-handed.”

On the recent draw and the bigger picture:

“We had a big chance to win the last game, but the most important thing is that we didn’t lose everything, we gained something. Now it’s a different plan, a different approach, and full focus on Eagles.”

Addressing the long journey:

“Distance is not an excuse. We have experienced this before in continental football. What matters is our mentality. We are focused on getting a positive result and making our supporters proud.”
