📍 Nkana Stadium, Kitwe
Nkana FC struck deep into stoppage time to edge Kansanshi Dynamos FC 1–0 in a tightly contested Week 17 MTN Super League encounter, punishing the Solwezi side with a last-minute goal at Nkana Stadium.
Former Kansanshi Dynamos striker Dave Daka, introduced in the 80th minute, proved decisive when he netted the winner in added time to hand the hosts all three points.
First Half
Action began as early as the 3rd minute when Lukonde released Mwepu, but the forward failed to control the ball and it rolled out for a goal kick.
Nkana began to apply pressure, but Kansanshi goalkeeper Gwazani Banda was in inspired form. In the 13th minute, he produced a fine parry to deny Charles Zulu, before captain Lukonde made a crucial clearance in the 17th minute to stop Jacob Ngulube from scoring.
The hosts continued to threaten, with Idris Mbombo testing Gwazani again in the 26th minute, but the keeper stood firm with another strong parry. Just before halftime, Gwazani was called into action once more, pulling off a brilliant save in the 44th minute to deny Harrison Chisala, ensuring the sides went into the break level.
Second Half
Kansanshi made a change at the start of the second half, with Kelvin Kapumbu making his debut after replacing Beby Musangala.
In the 52nd minute, Kansanshi thought they had broken the deadlock when Mwepu found the back of the net, but celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled offside.
Nkana came close again in the 70th minute through Idris Mbombo, whose spectacular bicycle kick rattled the crossbar, much to the relief of the Kansanshi defense.
At the other end, Kansanshi nearly took the lead in the 83rd minute when Mubiana went close, but Kendrick Mumba produced a vital clearance to keep the hosts level.
Late Drama
Just as the match appeared headed for a draw, Nkana found the breakthrough in stoppage time. Dave Daka struck in the 90th minute to secure a dramatic late winner for the hosts.

Post-Match Reaction
Kansanshi Dynamos assistant coach Dennis Makinka praised his side’s performance despite the late setback.
“First of all, congratulations to Nkana. I think the game was even. We worked extremely hard and held on until the last minute. It’s painful to lose like that, especially after the effort the boys put in.”
Makinka also highlighted the team’s progress:
“This is the sixth game since I joined Kansanshi, and if you look at our performances from the first match up to now, we are improving every day. This loss is just a bend, not the end. We’ll pick ourselves up and keep pushing.”
