Weekend Recap | Kansanshi Dynamos Family

It was a challenging weekend for the Kansanshi family, with results not fully going our way across the teams. However, beyond the scorelines were encouraging performances, strong fighting spirit, and valuable lessons that continue to shape the club’s journey this season.

Senior Team – Kansanshi Dynamos FC | MTN Super League

The senior side suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat away to Nkana FC in a closely contested Week 17 MTN Super League encounter at Nkana Stadium. The hosts only found the breakthrough deep into stoppage time, despite a disciplined and resilient display from the Solwezi-based side.

Kansanshi showed intent going forward and thought they had taken the lead in the 52nd minute when Mwepu found the back of the net, but the effort was ruled out for offside. Nkana continued to press, yet goalkeeper Gwazani Banda produced an outstanding performance, pulling off a series of superb saves to keep Kansanshi firmly in the contest.

Just as the match appeared destined for a draw, Nkana struck in 90+3 minutes, denying Kansanshi a hard-earned point after a strong away performance.

Young Kansanshi United

The Solwezi derby provided a powerful story of character and mindset as Chali Mulaisho returned to action with Young Kansanshi United.

After limited game time with the senior team, Chali embraced the opportunity not as a setback, but as a chance to reset, rebuild, and rediscover rhythm through competitive minutes. Introduced at halftime, the forward showed maturity and hunger, making his presence felt and eventually finding the back of the net in the 87th minute to score his first goal since returning.

His performance reflected a player determined to grow, respond positively, and use every opportunity to improve, a clear example of how the club’s development pathway is designed to support progression at every stage of a player’s journey.

Kansanshi Queens

The Queens recorded a goalless draw away in Mpika against Sporting Doves. While the result denied them a chance to close the gap on teams above them following dropped points elsewhere, the clean sheet on the road stands as a positive outcome.

Kansanshi Academy

The academy side shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw, continuing their steady progress and competitive development at youth level.

Lessons Learned

The weekend reinforced the importance of focus until the final whistle, capitalising on key moments, and trusting the club’s development pathway across all teams. While results were mixed, the performances provided clear lessons that will strengthen the teams as the season progresses.
