WEEKEND RECAP | Kansanshi Dynamos Family Shine

It was an exciting weekend for the Kansanshi Dynamos family, with the club recording three wins and one draw across all teams.

The senior team produced the standout result of the week with a commanding 3-0 victory over FC Leopards in Kabwe. Young Kansanshi United also secured an important 2-1 win over Mbonge United, while Kansanshi Queens battled to a 1-1 draw with Chitampankwa at home.

Senior Team – Kansanshi Dynamos FC

The senior team recorded their second win of the season in style, defeating FC Leopards 3-0 away in Kabwe in their week-15 match of the MTN Super League.

The Mabanga Boys showed intent early in this first match after the break, taking the lead in the 7th minute through Francisco Madinga, who benefited from good work by Kalonji Mwepu. Just two minutes later, Beby Musangala doubled the advantage with Willy Bokingo providing the assist. The third goal arrived in the 27th minute when Kalonji Mwepu found the net, again assisted by Bokingo.

Despite the absence of Head Coach Mohamed Fathi, who is out of the country attending the CAF Pro Licence course, the team delivered a disciplined and spirited performance.

Assistant Coach Dennis Makinka praised the players:
“The boys showed great character and hunger. This is the kind of performance we want to build on in the coming matches.”

The victory lifts Kansanshi Dynamos out of the relegation zone, with the team now sitting 14th on the table.

Young Kansanshi United

Young Kansanshi United continued their impressive form with a 2-1 victory over Mbonge United in their FAZ North Western Provincial Division One – Zone A Week 20 fixture at the Annex Pitch.

The boys had to fight hard, playing the last 22 minutes with 10 men after Isaac Daka was sent off. Daka had earlier opened the scoring in the 19th minute, while William Daka added the second in the 41st minute.

The team showed resilience and determination to hold on for all three points.

Young Kansanshi 2-1 Mbonge United

Kansanshi Queens

The Queens played to a 1-1 draw against Chitampankwa in the ZPL Women’s National League – North, in a Week 20 fixture at the Annex Pitch, Independence Stadium.

Chitampankwa took an early lead in the 7th minute, but Theresa Nayame continued her fine form by equalizing in the 19th minute.

National Team Call-Up

In brighter news, Theresa Nayame has been named in the provisional Zambia Under-20 Women’s squad preparing for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers against Uganda.
She reports for camp today, January 19, as the current leading scorer in the National Women’s League with 14 goals.

Kansanshi Academy – Under 17

Our Under-17 boys also recorded a 2-1 victory over Kimakolwe in the FAZ Division Three Provincial League.
Chungu Mwansa scored both goals in an impressive display.

  • Kansanshi Dynamos FC will host Nkwazi this weekend, with Coach Dennis Makinka facing his former side.
    The two teams are level on points, with Nkwazi only ahead by a single goal difference, setting up a thrilling contest.
  • Young Kansanshi United will visit Manyama United in their Week 20 match.
  • Kansanshi Queens will host Nakonde Titans in their Week 16 fixture.
