WEEK-SEVEN – KANSANSHI DYNAMOS VS RED ARROWS
Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club will be pushing their luck again tomorrow as they host Lusaka-based Red Arrows in their Week Seven MTN Super League clash at Independence Stadium, Sunday, October 5.
Head coach Zeddy Saileti says the team is fully focused on ending their winless start to the season.
The Mabanga Boys are desperate for a victory, having gone six games without a win so far. They come into the clash following a 0–0 draw against Mufulira Wanderers in their last outing.
Seven points separate the two sides, with Red Arrows comfortably sitting third on the log with 10 points, while Kansanshi are third from the bottom with three points, looking to climb out of the relegation zone.
Despite the challenging start, Saileti insists that the team’s preparation has been thorough.
“We’ve done what we always do. This is our job and our objective is to win the game. We haven’t won a game this season, so whatever we’re doing in training, it’s everybody’s focus we just want to win.”
Acknowledging the strength and experience of the visitors, the coach emphasized the tactical nature of the match.
“Red Arrows are a big team with a lot of experienced players. We’ve prepared our players tactically; we need to be at our top level because we want to win the game.”
Saileti also shared his approach for the team, urging players to focus on their own game rather than giving undue respect to the opponents.
“Our approach is simple: we should not give them a lot of respect. This is a competition, we should just play our own game and let everything else give us direction.”
Playing at home provides added motivation for the coach and his squad.
“It’s always a good feeling to play at home. We’ve got a lot of fans, even though they are still waiting for our first win. We just want to entertain them and give them what they need this season.”
The team also arrives for the clash in good shape, with only minor knocks reported.
“No major injuries. Everyone is ready to play,” Saileti confirmed.
With the first home win of the season on the line, Saileti says all efforts are being made to secure the points.
