MABANGA BOYS EYE FIRST WIN AS THEY HOST GREEN EAGLES

Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club will be looking to secure their first victory of the MTN Super League season when they welcome Green Eagles to Independence Stadium this weekend in a crucial Week 5 encounter.

The Mabanga Boys have endured a challenging start to life back in the top flight, recording two draws and two losses in their opening four matches. The campaign began with a goalless draw away to Kabwe Warriors, followed by a narrow 1-0 defeat to Zanaco. Week 3 saw a spirited 1-1 draw against Konkola Blades, before last weekend’s 1-0 setback against Mutondo Stars in Kitwe.

Despite the difficult results, head coach Zeddy Saileti remains positive that his side is steadily building towards the breakthrough needed to lift confidence and momentum.

“We’ve played four games without picking up maximum points, and of course, everyone is aware that we haven’t done well. Even our fans are not happy. But this is football, it’s not the end of the world. We still have another chance tomorrow. We’ve prepared well and are looking forward to a good game,” Saileti said in his pre-match interview.

Focus on Unity and Aggression

Saileti emphasized that a positive and disciplined approach will be key against the Eagles.

“We just need to approach the game positively. We must be aggressive, play as a unit, defend as a unit, and attack as a unit. The players know what is at stake, and what’s important tomorrow is to apply themselves very well so we can get the maximum points,” he stated.

Mental Strength the Key

With the team yet to register a win this season, the coach highlighted the importance of mental toughness.

“Of course, not winning in four games is difficult. But I’ve been talking to the players, even today. I’ve told them to stay mentally strong and to focus. This is our job, and it’s about applying ourselves the right way.”

Injury Update

The coach confirmed that two players, Matthews Banda and Beby, are sidelined with slight knocks and will not be available for this weekend’s fixture.

Looking Ahead

Saileti has called on his squad to combine solid defending with creativity in attack to break their winless run.

“If you are looking for a win, you have to defend well, play attacking football, and create scoring opportunities. That is what we’ll be aiming to do,” he concluded.

With preparations complete, Kansanshi Dynamos are ready to give their all at Independence Stadium as they seek to lift confidence and momentum with a first victory of the season. The support of the Mabanga Family will once again be crucial as the boys look to bounce back.
