Kansanshi Dynamos FC is geared up for an electric showdown against Konkola Blades in the Carling Black Label Charity Shield tomorrow at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium at 12:30 PM.
The Fearless Boys secured their place in the match after finishing second in the National League last season, with Konkola taking top spot.
This year’s Charity Shield is making history as the first edition to feature eight teams, expanding to include men’s Super League and ABSA Cup winners, National League champions and runners-up, and Super League and runners-up from both the Women’s Super League and Women’s National League.
Head coach Zeddy Saileti believes the match will be a valuable test ahead of the new season.
“It’s a very important game for us. We are in pre-season and our objective is to check our match fitness and see how ready the team is. We expect a very entertaining game because we know Konkola, and they know us. I know their coach, Beston Chambeshi, he’s very experienced. I have worked with him and even played alongside him, so we expect a tight game,” Saileti said.

KDFC Midfielder, Kizito Kezeron also talked about how ready the players are for the game.
“We are excited about this game and I’m very sure it’s going to be a good one. We just ask our supporters to come out in number to support us tomorrow, ” Kizito said.

Looking beyond tomorrow’s fixture, Saileti is confident the team is ready for the league campaign.
“We have done well in our preparations. Tomorrow is about checking our match fitness and performance, but we are ready for the season. As a coach, of course, we are preparing for maximum points,” he said.
