Kansanshi Dynamos head into tomorrow’s Week 32 fixture following confirmation of their relegation survival after the recent changes approved by FAZ AGM, where only two teams, instead of four, will now be relegated.

Despite the decision from the FAZ AGM, the Mabanga Boys had already placed themselves in a strong position, needing only two points from their remaining three matches to mathematically secure survival before the conclusion of the season. The team has shown great improvement in recent matches, moving away from the relegation zone after a strong second-round performance.

The side, currently under the guidance of Dennis Makinka who is standing in for Coach Mohamed Fathi, has managed to turn things around impressively in the second half of the campaign.

Coming into this Week 32 encounter, the two sides met in the first round where the Mabanga Boys recorded a convincing 3-0 victory in Kabwe.

Heading into the match, 10 points separate the two teams on the table. FC Leopards sit second from bottom with 28 points, while Kansanshi Dynamos are 10th on the log with 38 points.

Assistant coach Dennis Makinka previewed the match in an interview with Kansanshi Dynamos Media:

β€œObviously one of our tasks was to get out of relegation and push to finish in the top 10. So even with the FAZ changes regarding the relegation slots, our target remains finishing in the top 10. It’s not just about surviving relegation, but about ending the season strongly in the top 10.

β€œWe have another home game against FC Leopards and obviously it will be a tough match. Their new coach, Coach Kachinga, is very experienced and they have changed the way they play. They have been performing very well in recent matches and have recorded a few important wins, so we expect a very difficult game.

β€œWe are looking forward to the game and we will treat it with the seriousness it deserves. As we push for a top 10 finish, we need to collect maximum points.

β€œWith only three games remaining, we want to finish strongly. If we can win all three games, it will be even better for us. Even getting two wins would still be positive, but our focus is on collecting maximum points from the remaining matches.

β€œThere are a few injury concerns and we are conducting late fitness tests on Bagotila, Kapumbu and Bokingo. After this morning’s session, the doctors will confirm whether they will be available for the game or not.”
