Final Away Assignment This Season Awaits KDFC

Kansanshi Dynamos head into their final away fixture of the 2025/26 MTN Super League season with a tough encounter against Police-sponsored side Nkwazi FC at Edwin Imboela Stadium tomorrow.

It will not be an easy assignment for acting coach Dennis Makinka, who continues to oversee the team in the absence of head coach Fathi. The fixture carries extra emotions for Makinka, who remains closely attached to his former club, Nkwazi FC.

Makinka spoke about the special bond he shares with the Lusaka-based side, revealing that Nkwazi gave him his first opportunity as a head coach in the Zambian Premier League.

“It’s going to be an emotional game because Nkwazi gave me my first opportunity to become a head coach in the Premier League. But work is work, I work for Kansanshi now, and we have to do our best,” Makinka said.

Kansanshi Dynamos head into tomorrow’s encounter unbeaten in their last four league matches and will be eager to maintain that momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

However, standing in their way is a Nkwazi side fighting for survival as they battle to remain in the top flight, setting up what promises to be a highly competitive contest.

Makinka also believes his side has recently found consistency away from home after struggling earlier in the campaign.

“We have found a formula to pick points away from home. It’s going to be tough, but we are ready for Nkwazi,” he added.

The coach further stressed the importance of finishing the season strongly as preparations already begin for the next campaign.

“For us to start well next season, we need to finish well. These last games will give us a clear picture of how we want to begin the next season.”

On injury concerns, Makinka confirmed that midfielders Madinga, Kizito, and Kelvin are carrying minor knocks and remain doubtful, although there is optimism they could recover in time for the match.

In the first meeting between the two sides this season, Kansanshi Dynamos secured a narrow 1-0 victory courtesy of a Kalonji Mwepu strike.
