The Mabanga Boys are at Independence Stadium this Wednesday for their second consecutive home match as they host newly crowned MTN Super League champions Power Dynamos FC in a rescheduled Week 25 fixture.
Kansanshi Dynamos come into the match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Green Buffaloes, marking their second straight win and boosting confidence within the camp.
Power Dynamos, meanwhile, arrive in dominant form, having already secured the league title with four games to spare. They sit top of the table with 70 points, while Kansanshi Dynamos are 11th with 38 points.
The Kitwe giants also claimed a 2-0 victory in the first leg played at Arthur Davies Stadium earlier this season.
Despite the challenge ahead, Assistant coach Dennis Makinka says the team remains focused and grounded.
“The players are all concentrating. We are talking about consistency. We’ve only won two games, not the whole league, so we need to stay focused and keep working hard,” said Makinka.
Looking ahead to the fixture, the coach expects a tough encounter against a strong and determined side.
“Power is a very strong team, and I know their mindset, they always play to win. Even though they have already won the league, this will not be an easy game. We are preparing well and doing everything possible to try and stop them.”
Makinka also pointed to finishing as an area that must improve if the team is to get a positive result.
“Our main problem has been finishing. We are creating chances but not scoring enough. If we can improve in that area, we can get something from this game.”
He has since called on the fans to rally behind the team once again.
“We want to make the fans happy. They were amazing in the last game, and we need that support again. This is a big match, and their presence will motivate the players.”
With momentum building and home support behind them, the Mabanga Boys will be aiming to rise to the occasion against the champions.
