MATCH PREVIEW: Mines United vs Kansanshi Dynamos

Kansanshi Dynamos return to MTN Super League action this Wednesday with a Week 26 encounter against Mines United, as the Mabanga Boys look to bounce back following a difficult outing away in Lusaka.

With the season entering a crucial phase, Kansanshi Dynamos will be eager to turn the page and produce a stronger performance as they continue their fight to move further away from the relegation zone ahead of the international break.

When the two sides met earlier this season, the match ended in a closely contested 1–1 draw, highlighting how evenly matched the teams can be when they meet.

With valuable points still at stake, the Mabanga Boys will be hoping to show determination, character, and resilience when they step onto the pitch against Mines United.

Coach’s Preview
Assistant coach Dennis Makinka acknowledged the challenge ahead but remains confident the team can respond positively.
“We are coming from a defeat against Red Arrows and we understand what is at stake considering our position on the table. The positive part is that we are currently outside the relegation zone, so we just need to start picking positive results.”
“It’s going to be a tough game. Mines United are not really under pressure, they can play freely, but for us every game is important because we want to catch up with the teams in the top ten.”
Makinka also emphasized the need for the team to improve their performances away from home.
“Obviously we haven’t been good travellers this season, with only one win away from home, but we want to change that narrative.”
“In Kabwe we have had good performances, especially against Kabwe Warriors and Prison Leopards. The players enjoy playing here and we are hoping to replicate those performances and start collecting points away from home.”

Injury Concerns
Kansanshi Dynamos will head into the fixture with a few notable absences.
Forward Willy Bokingo, who scored in the first leg between the two sides this season, will miss Wednesday’s match as he continues his recovery from injury. The striker is expected to return to action after the upcoming international break.

Midfielder Patrick Macheso is also unavailable after sustaining a knee injury and is likewise expected to make his return following the international break.

Meanwhile, defender Mwepu Kalonji will not be part of the squad after being granted compassionate leave following the passing of his father earlier this week. He has travelled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to attend the funeral.
