Coach Fathi eyes positive result in his first away game.
Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club are in Lusaka for a Week 14 match of the MTN Super League as Coach Mohamed Fathi prepares for his first away game in charge, facing Green Buffaloes in what promises to be a competitive fixture.
Only seven points separate the two sides on the log: Green Buffaloes sit 13th with 17 points from 13 matches, while Kansanshi Dynamos are 16th with 10 points after 12 games played.
Fathi goes into this match encouraged by the performance in his debut game last weekend, even though the team settled for a home draw.
“We played very good football and created a lot of chances,” he said. “But at the end of the day, it was a draw. I’m not happy with the draw, I want to win at home, and the players should also be hungry to win at home. We move forward and make our changes.”
The coach is also pleased with how quickly the squad is adjusting to his approach.
“Most of them are adapting very fast,” he explained. “We changed the formation and the style of play, and so far so good. We’re trying to pick maximum points from the next two games before the break. That will help us prepare and make some changes in January.”
With the AFCON break approaching, Fathi believes the pause will benefit the team.
“It’s good for us and good for the players,” he said. “It gives them time to rest, and it gives us time to make changes. CAF regulations say no league games during AFCON, and we all have to respect that. We’ll use the break wisely.”
Looking ahead to Green Buffaloes, Fathi is confident the team can put up a strong performance in Lusaka.
“I’ve always had good games against Buffaloes,” he said. “If we put everything together, I think we’re going to have a good game. I trust my players, they will put in maximum effort to get a positive result.”
